I don't know about you, but during these holiday events, a girl just can't have too many gowns.  Well, at least I can't anyway! That's why I was so surprised to find the wonderful Bellariel gown on sale at Mer-Elf Creations today for only 100I'z!

Hurry on down to Mer-Elf Creations if you want to get this gown at the sale price, but you only have until 1/1/10, after that it goes up to normal pricing.  Much like the last gown I shared with you, this is a lovely ensemble of reds and greens with golden embroidery and many different sleeve and skirt options to get the look you like best.  Morgaine Price is the creator of Mer-Elf Creations, and has shops at Big Blue Easy, and also at Equinox where there will be a grand First Annual Winter Masquerade Ball this Thursday, December 30th.

I hope to see you all there... and I'm excited to see what everyone will be wearing.

Happy Shopping!

Christmas Maiden

Here am I... the Christmas Maiden
Holly wreathed and draped in finest velvet
Red and Green

Through my tresses the red berries shine
And around my waist a belt gathered so fine

No merrier maiden e're there were
Of Christmas far... or
Christmas near

So have yourself a merry little Christmas
And may your days be full of light

In this lovely gown by Simply Fae
I bring to you tonight.

I can't help but wax poetic in this simply fabulous gown by my dear friend Boaz of Simply Fae.  Her attention to detail is unsurpassed and you'll delight in the prim attachments (of which I lost count) at head, shoulder, chest, and waist, all decked with the finest of holiday cheer in a most elegant fashion.

This gown comes in the deepest forest green or red, and as a bonus you can buy the set as a mix and match outfit, as I have done here.  If you are still looking for that stunning show-stopping gown for your next Holiday party... take a saunter, or fly on by Simply Fae on the lovely Big Blue Easy sim.

I'm also so thrilled by the gloriously glowing "Ethereal" skin by my very talented friend Talia Fournier of Paparazzi.  Shown here with the Candy Mystique makeup, it's a near perfect match with this incredible gown.

I hope there is something here that brings your holiday that extra something this year and wishing you a Very Merry Christmas!

Fire and Ice

Dripping with fire and soothed by cooling ice, she found herself as if in a dream, wandering and drifting through the crisp wintery landscape of Equinox.  There among the refreshingly beautiful ice sculptures, she found her peace, her warmth, in the company of a heart full of friendship.

I am wearing the ML Eldorado Gown, a Limited Edition design by the very talented Chigadee London of Couture Chapeau.

There are some things that warm us to the core no matter how chilly it is outside.

One of those things is something I am blessed to have found in so much abundance here in the virtual world of InWorldz. That wonderful, mysterious, and sometimes elusive thing called Friendship.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Chrystophur Silversmith, and Heart Smith for the friendship they share with me, and a huge thank you so much for the staggeringly beautiful Christmas gift surprise I woke to find this morning!  I Truly Love It! You warm my heart and my very soul with your kindness!

~May you all find the joy of light and the spirit of friendship this Christmas Season~

Love and Kisses,

A Shiny Solstice from ~TMD~

Upon logging in to InWorldz, I typically will scroll through all my group announcements and see what's new out on the grid and where I can go explore.  This time, my eye was caught by an announcement from ~TMD~ Tastefully Made Designs.

Not only do they provide a gorgeous shopping experience in a large elegant shop floating high above Kismet, but there are some lovely new shiny jewels for you to enjoy, necklaces, sets, crowns, rings and wedding bands, as well as intricately carved medieval and renaissance style furniture.

While browsing the shop, Chas Dezno, the lovely designer of the jewelry, invited me to the ~TMD~ group for updates, and also let me know that the main Kismet sim that their shop floats above at 2000 meters would be opening in about a month.  I snuck down below to peek around and saw a few beautiful buildings in progress, a fairytale perfect cottage, a castle, and the most royal four poster bed with beautiful brocade coverlets.  I made a mental note to go back there when they finally open!

Chaz also announced that today for Solstice, they have discounted the Fae jewelry sets to half price!

There are some lovely colors to choose from, but I am showing off the Cerise which caught my eye and had to go home with me.  Also there, I fell in love with the "April" necklace which Chas will be making earrings to match very soon.

I hope you're able to go see this wonderful new shop!

Love and sparklies,

As Talia Fournier of Paparazzi says, "Ethereal came from the desire to create a natural, minimal makeup skin with an angelic glow." She succeeded!  I just love the sweet kissable pouty lips, don't you?

Run, do not walk, do not pass go... run to Paparazzi at your favorite outlet in InWorldz to find this enchanting new skin.  It is currently available in only the Caramel skin tone shown here, in both natural and freckled versions, and eight beautiful makeup layers.  The skins are beautiful alone as a base skin including two skins, freckled and non-freckled for 500I'z.

Each makeup layer is 75I'z, or you can buy a fat pack of the makeup for only 575I'z for all eight (base skin purchase is separate).  So a little quick math puts us at only 1075I'z for all sixteen combination options.  Far less than you would pay for a single skin at some places.

Eyes For You and the Whiskey Challenge #4

As part of the Whiskey Challenge #4 we were asked what advice we would give to a new InWorldz blogger.  Where to begin!  I guess one of the most important things I think, without sounding trite I hope, is "Be Yourself".  When you think of it, a Blog is just a "Web Log" and really doesn't have to have any particular guidelines at all.  Just write what you want, share things you have an interest in, follow a theme if you feel like it.  I usually tie all my writings into Fashion, whether by sharing what skin, hair, eyes, clothes I'm wearing, or whatnot.  You can write short witty remarks, if you're short and witty *wink*, or long prolific insightful posts, if that's the way you like to express yourself.  Or, you could write not one single word and only post pictures.

We've all got something to share, something to express, or just want to focus on helping people out by writing about your experiences and things you've found along the way, whether in our real daily lives or virtual (which is really the same thing, if you really think about it).  Some people write, as a kind of journal to get things off their chest.  Others write to inspire,  or to teach.

Me, well I'm not witty, prolific, or particularly inspiring, but I do like to share, in hopes that something I've come across may be helpful to someone else.

As an example, a few friends and I were standing around the Community Giving Tree at the Lodge at Equinox on the Dream e'Scapes sim in InWorldz.  We chatted about all kinds of things, and had a few new friends on a tour with us that were new to InWorldz.  One friend was lamenting the selection of eyes and wanted desperately to find some nice blue eyes that "don't make me look like a werewolf".  Sooo.... I wondered what that meant, and thought, it could be the kind of eyes that are all bloodshot for that more "realistic" look.  Also, some of the eyes out there have very dark shading that make them look sunken and sickly.  Well you can't always tell with eyes that you see in the ads, because once your avatar is wearing them and your AO kicks in, you may hold your head and move your eyes in ways that are not the most flattering for that kind of eye.

So, I decided to go out and take a look at what kinds of eyes were out there in InWorldz, and maybe help my friend along the way.  While searching, it struck me how very many different shades of the color blue are out there.  Some are more greenish blue, some grey, some hints of purple, some pale, some intense, some with more realistic highlights, some with a more cartoon or anime look.  Here's a few that I found, and I hope there's something here you might enjoy.

Glamour - Blue Eyes

Glamour - Diamond Blue Eyes

Nephilim - occhio-blu eyes (Eyes - Occhi - Free)

Nephilim -Cyan chiari eyes (Eyes - Occhi - Free)

Nephilim - Occhi Cyan eyes - Free

Eyes by Snow- Colour Eyes II (Ocean)

Pulse - Cole #1

Hey, do these eyes make my nose look big?  Hoping for the non-werewolf winner.... which do you like?  Maybe I should have shaved first....

Are there any other blue eyes out there that you just love?  I'd love to hear about them so, start a blog and let us all know!  Thanks for sharing the love <3

Oh, before I forget, the other part of the Whiskey Challenge was to dig in your InWorldz inventory and find the oldest pic you took... so here's mine.  Look out world!  Hahahaha  Swamp Thang!

"See" you next time....

Whiskey Challenge #3 - New Grit

Sometimes you need a little shaking up to snap out of your online habits. That's what the 3rd week in the Whiskey Blogger Challenge was for me. The idea this week was to find somewhere you had never been before, something out of the normal spots you hang out and that make you happy InWorldz, and snap a picture or ten.  I snapped ten.

So, leaping out into the great unknown, I stumbled upon this hidden gritty little gem of a city called "Nephilim". It is built with details down to the gritty, grungy textures that really make you feel immersed in the scene.  Let's start our tour in the warehouse district and go from there.

There is also a nice little freebie area on the second floor of the skyscrapers that had a few things you might like. I'm only showing the tennis shoes, jeans, and skin that I found there, but there are also some great sculpted BOOTS for both guys and ladies, and some nice purses. It's all in italian though, so you just have to go see what you like.

While there were a few hangout locations, apartments, the makeshift bar above the pawn shop, and the nightclub in the old cathedral, I didn't run into anyone there other than one friend I tp'd to come take a look. It would really make a great place for a fashion show or photo shoot as there are so many great spots to take pictures.

Hope you enjoy this little visit to the city. Go see and explore for yourself, and let me know what you find. I'm looking forward to finding many more great places to explore InWorldz.

I attended a building class InWorldz at the Equinox at Dream e'Scapes sim and learned a lot of very useful tips! I highly recommend this series of classes, led via voice (Skype) for both novices as well as seasoned builders. Saera teaches in a very patient and inspiring style full of examples and hands-on experience.

There were more than a few "light bulb" moments for us, and we learned some things that will really make building things so much quicker and easier, such as optimal build option settings, building on the world grid, maneuvering and snap-aligning prims through the grid channel, and how to avoid the horrors of "prim flicker".

Did you know that when two prims are overlapping and give that terrible graphic flickering, also known as "prim flicker", that this is actually registering to the server as a prim "collision" which is contributing to lag. I had no idea! Sloppy building techniques can harm your business as well as your visitor's experience by increasing lag and causing people to leave, so drop by the next Primspinner building class, learn a few things and find yourself immersed in a great class with some very classy people.

Another tip shared was something I wish I had known about years ago, and so simple to use. I'm sure most of you have used the Alt+click to focus in on an object and then use the camera controls to rotate around it. Well if you simply add one more key press and make that Ctrl+Alt+click and keep the mouse button pressed down while you move it, you then can freely rotate all around the object. This bit alone will save so much time for me, and was quite an eye opener.

For more info on upcoming building classes, join the Primspinner group InWorldz watch Saera's blog. And if you would like to see an incredibly detailed example of her work, visit the Equinox Lodge and take a tour around. You'll likely stumble into Saera, who is usually very happy to take new people around to see the sights.
